Champions Against MS
For many cyclists, the Pedal Partners Program creates extra motivation to reach the Finish Line.
The free Champions Against MS program is an important link between SAM’S CLUB MS 150 cyclists and people living with multiple sclerosis.
As a participant, you ride on behalf of a man, woman or child with MS who cannot ride. A collectible red bandana, bearing the signature and well wishes of your Champion with MS, will accompany you throughout the ride.
Getting involved is easy. If you don’t know anyone with MS, simply pick up a free signed bandana at Packet Pick-Up. If you’re riding for someone you know with MS, you can receive a blank bandana at a Packet Pick-Up for your Champion to sign before the May ride.
I Want to be a Champion. How Do I Sign Up?
Become a Champion when you register. You’ll see two CHAMPS options when registering. Select the first option if you want to be paired with someone with MS and receive a free signed bandana. If you already know someone with MS for whom you want to ride, mark the second CHAMPS box on the registration form; you’ll receive a blank bandana for your Champion to autograph.
I'm a Champion ... Now What?
Connect with your Champion to make the most of your journey to help Texans living with MS. Call or write your Champion. Let him or her know you’re meeting the challenge of riding 150 miles as he or she meets the daily challenge of living with MS.
Contact your Champion before the ride. Ask him or her to meet you at the Start, Overnight or Finish sites, if possible. Share your enthusiasm for seeing your Champion as you pedal each day.
Team up with your Champion to meet your fund-raising goal together.
After the ride, send your bandana and a note to your Champion. Describe what it meant to ride and share the excitement.
Share photos of your cycling adventure.
Keep in touch. Ask your Champion to pair with you for 2009.
Share your Champion's story about MS when raising funds and telling others about your SAM’S CLUB MS 150 experience.
